Important Note - NRIWAY isn't serviceable for Passport Office PCC & Local Police Station PCC. The passport office required the physical presence of the applicant.
As the name suggests, the PCC or Police Clearance Certificate was created to protect the interests of both Indian immigrants and the countries to which they immigrated. It acts as a safeguard for the hosting country to ensure that the bearer is free of any criminal charges or malice. However, it is only required for Indian personnel who are traveling abroad for work, as well as those who have applied for a residence permit or a long-term visa. People traveling on a temporary basis such as on vacations, do not require to obtain a PCC. Further, the procedures for acquiring a Police Clearance Certificate are divided into two categories: ECR countries follow one set of procedures, while non-ECR countries follow a different set of procedures. Individuals with differing sets of abilities, qualifications, gender, and whether they're emigrating through a recruiting agent must follow different procedures for ECR nations.
Only 17 countries require this check. These 17 countries are -
Afghanistan, Bahrain, Iraq, Indonesia, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Jordan, Libya, Lebanon, Malaysia, Oman, Qatar, Sudan, Syria, Thailand, UAE, and Yemen.

The document requirements for PCC are different for skilled and unskilled labor
Skilled Labor
- Original Old passport in with self-attested photocopy of its first two and the last two pages of it including the ECR/Non-ECR page and page of observation.
- The Proof of your Present Address (in case of change of address)
- A Self-attested copy of the Employment Contract with the employer of the foreign country.
- A Copy of a Valid visa (in case a visa is already obtained) and the official English translation if your visa is not in English.
Unskilled Labor
- Old passport - original with a self-attested photocopy of its first two and its last two pages including the ECR/Non-ECR page and page of observation (if any).
- Proof of your Present Address (in case of change of address)
- The Indian Mission or the Permission letter from the concerned Indian Mission/Post is an employment contract from the foreign employer duly attested.
- Copy of the Valid visa (in case visa is already obtained) and official English translation if the visa is not in English.
Steps For Registration
- Place your order through the NRIWAY website, as directed on the portal
- Your documents would be tracked and uploaded to the portal
- The Verification for documents would be conducted and a quotation would be raised accordingly
- An interim or advance payment would be raised
- When the payment is made, the order starts getting processed
- Final payment and unmasked copy uploading are processed
- Shipping charges are raised for international orders (domestic order shipments are free)
